The first weekend in Pernola: Mt Gambier

The first weekend has now almost past by. We worked yesterday (Saturday) and have had a day off today. The plan is to work six days a week; five days are required and seven days are optional.

Today we have been to Mt Gambier located 40 km south of Penola:

Mt Gambier is not very remarkable although it has 25000 citizens and is therefore larger than Penola. One feature with Mt Gambier is that the town has got a cinema. We took the opportunity to go and see New Moon, the second movie in the Twilight series. I did not like it and cannot understand how it could be so popular. The movie was sold out and the line reached outside the doors of the cinema.

This is me reading interesting details about Mt Gambier and the area:

Apart from the cinema Mt Gambier and the area has to offer other attractions as well. Just outside the town there are traces of volcanic activity. The so called blue lake is a crater that has been filled ground water:

This was all for today. Tomorrow starts another week of work, hopefully with cloudy weather!

    Hejsan
