Status update from Penola

Today we have been working again. It was starting to rain for a little while but the weather changed and it turned out to be sunny at the end. Today we made about 10 rows. They were tough in the beginning because we were both “shoot bashing” and “shirting”. This means that all shoots from the stem and all branches from the horizontal part of the wine rank that points towards the ground is removed.

According to the latest gossip we have two more farms left to prune. Thereafter “the boss” does not have any more work at the moment. Hopefully he receives something over the weekend; otherwise we are probably unemployed after next Thursday. The pay for this week was worse than last week so it might be a good idea to move!
